Mixed-Use CityMark Development Attracts Small Business-Owners

June 8, 2007

Las Vegas -- juhl, CityMark’s new mixed-use development in Las Vegas, has unit-owners excited about the potential future of downtown Las Vegas.

David Braxton, spokesperson for the project, tells MHN that juhl broke ground in June 2006, and move-ins are scheduled for spring 2008. The development will consist of six towers, ranging from six to 15 stories, and feature 341 condos as well as 24,000 square feet of retail space.

Studios and one- and two-bedroom residences will be customizable and range in size from 600 to 2,500 square feet. Residents, like Michael Taing, will also have the option to purchase street-level shopkeeper spaces, available in more than 100 floor plans.

Taing tells MHN that he plans to open a local bar in his space. He says that multi-use units like those in juhl will create the romantic atmosphere of cities like New York and Chicago, where people will live, work and play. “It’s great—you can’t beat it,” Taing adds. “You don’t have to drive anywhere.”

Taing purchased his juhl unit because he was attracted to CityMark’s positive track record in San Diego. He also believes that communities like juhl can help enhance downtown Las Vegas, possibly spurring new development.

Jim Boon, who plans to open a jewelry store in the juhl unit he purchased, sees a metropolitan future for downtown Las Vegas as well.

“I think I’m a few years early, but they’re going to build [downtown Las Vegas] up eventually,” he tells MHN.

juhl unit-owners will enjoy a two-story state-of-the-art fitness facility; rooftop courtyard featuring a 75-ft. pool, spa, cabanas, lounge chairs, barbecue grilling areas and teak decks; and ninth-floor view deck that affords views in every direction. The complex will also provide gated parking and 24-hour security.
